About Orla

Teaching yoga since 2015, Orla has over 600 hours of certified training spanning Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Restorative and Pregnancy Yoga — with further study in breathwork facilitation, Reiki and advanced meditation. That breadth reflects a genuine curiosity about what yoga, in its fullest sense, can offer people.

Her classes, workshops and programmes are designed for students who want to explore beyond the postures — to encounter the philosophy, breath and stillness that sit beneath the movement. Whether deepening a personal practice or preparing to teach, the aim is transformation that goes with you off the mat.

Background
The longer story

Orla came to yoga in 2014, and quickly recognised she had found something she wanted to understand fully. Her first 200-hour Hatha Teacher Training at the Yoga Therapy and Training Centre in Dublin confirmed it. She began teaching in 2015 and hasn't stopped since.

The decade that followed brought continuous study — a 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training at The Elbowroom covering Yin, Restorative and Vinyasa, Pregnancy Yoga certification at Barefoot Yoga Studio, Breathwork Facilitator training, Reiki, and an ongoing Advanced Meditation Teacher Training with Arhanta Yoga. That range isn't about collecting credentials. It reflects a desire to understand yoga as a complete system, not just a series of physical techniques.

She currently teaches at Barefoot Yoga Studio in Dublin and brings that same range to her workshops, the Awakened Heart Programme and her corporate wellbeing work. If there is one thread running through everything she does, it is a conviction that yoga works — not just on the mat, but in the body, the mind, and the way you move through life.

What drives the practice
01
The poses are just the beginning
Movement is the entry point. The real practice — the one that changes how you think, sleep, breathe and relate — begins when you start asking why. Yoga is a complete science of the mind and body. The mat is just where it starts.
02
Stillness is a practice too
We live in a culture that equates rest with laziness. Yin yoga exists to challenge that. Long holds, quiet spaces, the willingness to stay without pushing — most people discover capacities they didn't know they had when they simply stop moving and start listening.
03
Accessible to everyone
The Sutras, the breath, the energy body — these are practical tools, not esoteric concepts. Good teaching makes ancient wisdom usable. Everything in Orla's work is filtered through that lens: how does this actually help the person in front of me, right now?
In the room

The space tells
its own story.

Before every workshop, every session, Orla creates the space deliberately — flowers, candlelight, intention. It's not ceremony for ceremony's sake. It's an invitation to arrive.
